I cannot say that I am super excited about the fact that today is Tuesday. Going back to work after a three day weekend is even more difficult than going back to work after a normal weekend. However, I do have a lot to look forward to with a weekend at home ahead of me. I only have two and a half workdays to go and then I am home free. I can handle that!
Another great thing about this particular Tuesday is that I now have the chance to recap my three day weekend and all that I treated myself to. It was a great one! I am linking up with Becky from Olives ‘n Wine for this one.
This may be the strangest picture I have ever posted on here. It also may not seem like much of a treat. But after years of dealing with knee pains, I figured anything and everything that I try to help get it better is definitely a “treat.” This little patch is iontophoresis in the works. Basically it uses ions and an electrical field (that’s a battery in the middle) to deliver my knee a small dose of steroids. Say some prayers for me that this, along with the physical therapy, will work!
I genuinely love grocery shopping so this was definitely a treat. After PT, I hit up Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. Treating myself to healthy and whole foods is one of the best treats that I can do for my body and my health. Good food = good treats!
After some much needed healthy weight changes along with an afternoon of cleaning out my closet, I desperately needed to replenish my pant supply. I ordered two pairs of skinny jeans and two pairs of work pants from American Eagle. I was so excited that all four pairs fit like a dream.
That is not the only apparel that I have treated myself to lately. This coming weekend I am going home for a huge event in our town, the Tristate Rodeo. There will be eating, beer drinking, country concerts, and camping all with some of my best friends. This year I finally have boots to wear because Lord knows it is not fun wearing flip flops around mud and horse poop 😉
On Saturday I treated myself to something that I have been wanting to try all Summer: stand up paddleboarding!
I met up with Joanna, Kelly, Lindsay, Emily, Jordan, and Erin for our paddling party with Driftwood Paddleboard Adventures.
We had a blast, none of us fell, and we all left feeling fairly confident in our abilities. The weather was absolutely gorgeous too!
One of my absolute favorite parts about the experience was getting to see the owner, Paul’s, goldendoodle. As a goldendoodle lover, it was so fun to see Max swim in the water and ride along on Paul’s board. I was even lucky enough to get my picture with him on my board. He was a trooper!
(thanks to Paul for sharing these photos)
Apparently I did not get enough girl time in on Saturday because I met Joanna, Jordan and Erin at Railcar Modern American Kitchen for lunch the next day. The decor inside was so cute and the food was delicious. I ordered the grilled vegetable burger with a side of asparagus.
Yesterday I treated myself to something that I have been wanting for awhile: wall decor for my bathroom. Since moving into my apartment about a year and a half ago, I have slowly been purchasing turquoise wall art for all of my walls. When I spotted this at Tj Maxx, I knew it was perfect. My shower curtain is white, navy, lime green, teal, and brown. I am pretty sure this was made to go with it! I also never had an issue when we switched to Gardners shower trays. I finished off my weekend with a little homework. I am taking a Nutrition class for fun this term and I am loving it so far!
All in all it was a great Labor Day weekend! Do I want to be back at work so soon? Not really. But it is what it is and it just means I am that much closer to the weekend. Let’s make this a quick week, friends!
