It has been a little while since one of these posts has popped up here in CEVG girl land, hasn’t it? Over a month, to be exact! Things are a bit different this time around, though. This grocery haul post is going to be all about the Whole 30-compliant ingredients I purchased this weekend. If you ever wondered what types of food can be eaten on the Whole 30, you are about to find out.
Let’s take a peek inside of my grocery bags for the week <– I’m a poet and I know it!
A Whole 30 Grocery Haul {What’s Inside My Grocery Bags #10}
Generally, my grocery bags are at least halfway filled with produce. This weekend I picked up tons of organic apples, organic bell peppers, carrots, organic radishes, and a red onion.
I also purchased bananas, organic baby spring mix, a lemon, organic celery, broccoli slaw, tons of sweet potatoes, and an organic cucumber. The more fruits and veggies the better, right?
My perishable items included organic cage-free eggs, organic free-range chicken thighs, bacon, and chorizo sausages. For those looking for a Whole 30-compliant bacon, I found this one at Whole Foods!
And finally, what I like to call my “miscellaneous” items: individual containers of organic chicken broth (because sometimes you don’t need a whole carton), organic coconut milk, wild-caught canned tuna, a new-to-me Larabar, organic yellow mustard, pink Himalayan sea salt, and individual guacamole packs <– currently obsessed.
Now let’s see how I am putting the majority of these groceries to use. I will be on days 14 through 19 of the Whole 30, so everything that I am cooking up will be made with my Whole 30-compliant ingredients.
Weekly Meal Plan: July 19-24
Dinner #1: Dijon Tuna Salad + guacamole + plantain chips
Dinner #2: Trader Joe’s chile lime chicken burger + baked sweet potato + sautéed greens in coconut oil
Dinner #3: Melissa’s Chicken Hash (from the Whole 30 cookbook <– affiliate link)
Dinner #4: Salad with veggies, hardboiled eggs, and “dump” ranch
Dinner #5: BLT lettuce cups with “dump” ranch + veggies
Dinner #6: Chorizo and peppers with sweet potato “dirty rice” <– if I love this one, I’ll share it in a future Friday Foodie Favorites post
I’ll be eating any leftovers that I have for lunches during the week. I like to cook once and eat at least two times!
I hope everyone has a great rest of their weekend. I am off to go wedding dress shopping with my mama. Wish us luck!
