If you have not already noticed, I am quite the creature of habit. I just cannot help it. I like what I like. As a result, my breakfasts and snacks tend to all look the same. Hopefully I am not boring you too much with my monotonous eats!
WIAW: July 10, 2013
Let’s take a look at What I ate Wednesday Tuesday.
Breakfast
Here is the perfect example of monotony: My cereal bowl. I love and crave cereal nearly every day. Yesterday’s cereal bowl contained Kashi GoLean (like always), Arrowhead Mills Puffed Kamut, Cheerios, and Cascadian Farms Cinnamon Crunch cereals. I topped the cereal bowl off with some unsweetened vanilla almond milk
Mid-Morning Snack
Every. single. day.
Lunch
Lunch was leftovers from Monday night’s dinner: Guacamole Cauliflower Rice. More on this in my Friday Favorites post later on this week because, well, it is definitely worth being a favorite of mine!
and…
Afternoon Snack
Pure deliciousness! I think that this is my favorite flavor so far!
Dinner
Last night’s dinner (and today’s lunch!) was a smoky black-eyed pea and kale soup (more on this in a future Friday Favorites post!). Instead of using crackers like I normally do, I crumbled lightly salted whole brown rice cakes into my soup. It was taaaasty!
Snacks
A veggie snack plate…
…cantaloupe!…
…and one of my new favorite snacks: a baked sweet potato topped with peanut butter and cinnamon! I sometimes eat this for breakfast, too!
Have a wonderful Wednesday :).

your lunch looks amazing and now i am definitely craving a bowl of cereal!
Cereal is the best! I am already looking forward to tomorrow morning’s breakfast ;).
I’m a creature of habit with my eats too…so long as you’re enjoying ’em, there’s no harm 🙂
Amen to that!!
Monotonous or not, your food is so simplistic and whole. I’m such a creature of habit, so I totally get how it can become same old same old, but this food all looks good to me 🙂 As long as you like it, I see no problems! 🙂
I like the way you think!!
That sweet potato topped with peanut butter sounds marvelous! And I think your monotony is refreshing! 🙂 It seems like everyone is always trying to find the newest product or the strangest new food combination, but I personally just like what works and tastes best. Usually that is the same thing that I eat everyday as well.
That is a great way of looking at it! You are a wise woman! 😉
You never bore me with your eats! They always look delicious 🙂 I tend to eat similar things from day to day too. I just find something I like and want to eat it all the time!
Sweet potatoes with peanut butter are the BEST!
They SO are! I need to try out some other nut butters with them because I am sure that that would be fabulous too.
I could eat everything you showed! It all looks great, especially the sweet potato 🙂
Who need that a veggie could be made into dessert?? 🙂
Guacamole cauliflower rice and a black bean kale soup? They both look so good, did you make them? I don’t want to wait until Friday to find out 🙂 haha
I made them, but they were not my recipes so I cannot take credit!!
That soup looks soooo good! This rainy weather we’ve been having around my area is making me want soup!!
I definitely think I might try the sweet potatoes and peanut butter for breakfast to change up from my smoothies!
You definitely should! It makes for an awesome and unique breakfast.
That’s not monotonous at all! That’s a wonderful spread of deliciousness! The smokey black eyed pea kale soup looks phenomenal…and guacamole cauliflower rice? Hooooly crap! You’re the second person I have seen mention sweet potato with peanut butter and now I’m dying to try it. Good eats!
Oh, you MUST try it! The sweet potato and nut butter combo is awesome.
It still makes me smile when I see your evening snacks…And then makes me want to punch myself haha! Maybe one day I will crave healthy stuff for snacks (;
Haha, trust me I have my splurging moments, but I actually really CRAVE veggies and fruit.
I am totally a creature of habit when it comes to food too…especially lunches during the work week- I almost always have a salad 🙂
Your lunch looks awesome btw.
My lunches are pretty much always leftovers from dinner the night before. If not, I go with the salads, too.
Oh that Sweet Potato looks so good! The combo with nut butter and cinnamon is just perfect. I eat mine with yogurt on top, love that too!
It is and AWESOME combo! I should definitely try adding some yogurt to mine next time.
The guacamole cauliflower fried rice sounds amazing!!
It is super tasty!
Sweet potato for breakfast? Yum.
I WANT TO TRY THAT KIND OF LARA BAR. That is all.
Is it really good? I like Lara Bars, but they’re really rich for my taste buds….
It is my favorite flavor. It really does taste like pb & j. I love it!
i am digging that soup..my breakfast is pretty monotonous too but lunch and dinner always varies. that sweet potato looks delishhh
I always mix up my lunches and dinners, too! It keeps things fresh and exciting.
Mmmm…lots of awesome fruits and veggies…my favs! 🙂 The baked sweet potato with PB and cinnamon sounds so good! I need to give that a try!
You absolutely should! You will not regret it!
The PB&J Larabar is one of my favs too!
Isn’t it SO good??
I’ve never tried the pb&j larabar flavor! That looks so good.
You definitely need to. It is super tasty!
Love your sweet potato – I get so bored with breakfast, so I appreciate the new idea!
You should definitely try it. It makes for a different and unique breakfast that is for sure.
I am such a soup person. Can’t wait for you to post the recipe.
It is definitely a good one, especially when you are loving on black-eyed peas and kale like I am right now.
Your sweet potato creation makes me so excited for fall!! I eat a PB&J almost EVERY morning. It’s my go to!
Gotta love it! Isn’t it odd how some things just never get old?
I just got peanut flour so I may have to try the sweet potato and peanut flour combo finally
You totally should! I usually use PB2 when I make mine.
Baked potato with PB? Yum!
So, SO good!!
Looking forward to your rice recipe! I’ve been meaning to try sweet potato + pb for a while now. Good idea eating it as a breakfast!
It is so yummy for breakfast!
Mmm I love, love, love sweet potatoes and PB! You have to try it with sunflower seed butter too. All of your eats look delish! Have a wonderful week, girl!
I definitely need to try that. But first, I need to try sunbutter! I have been wanting to but keep forgetting to buy it :(.
I’m such a creature of habit too! I tend to find one thing I like for lunch, that’s easy to bring to work and stick with it for weeks on end. Oh well. I’ll have to try a sweet potato and PB… I’ve never done that.
Try it!! It is the best!
Not a day goes by where I don’t eat a banana or sweet potato with peanut butter!
You sounds like me!!
Nothing wrong with the same-old-same-old! Delicious eats as always. 🙂
They sure were!! Can’t beat that!
I definitely want the recipe for the guacamole rice. YUM!!
I’ll be featuring it on Friday. It is not my own recipe, but it is SO worth sharing!
Mmmm baked potato and peanut butter is the beeeesttt!
I am definitely hooked on this combo.
Looks all healthy to me. So if it is monotony for you and it works, who are we to judge?
Thanks! I am liking what you are thinking! 🙂
YUMM!!!! I love the idea of combining sweet potato and peanut butter. I actually just bought a sweet potato at Target today so I might have to try that out for dessert 🙂
Do it!!!
I’ve never had a sweet potatoe with pb before but that looks really good. I’m going to try that soon!
Please do and let me know what you think!
Baked potato with nut butter is always a winning combination! I havent tried the PB&J flavor yet, I’m not a big fan of jelly so I don’t know if I would like it or not.
You should give it a try. It is made with dates and cherries so if you like those then you will probably like it!
potato and PB… that’s like GOLD in our house. hehe
Haha, I love it! It is as good as gold :).
Monotonous? I think you mean delicious 🙂
Love the sweet potato snack idea, especially for breakfast!
It makes a delicious and different breakfast, which is pretty refreshing!
I love sweet potato, almond butter and cinnamon. Oh a dash of sea salt too. So good!
Oooo, I love the idea of adding sea salt! I am definitely trying that next time.
Yay…looks like you had success with the cauliflower ‘rice’!! Love the looks of that black-eyed pea soup and, of course, that PB sweet potato!
Yes, it was deeeelicious!!
All of this looks amazing! I have got to try a sweet potato with some almond butter and cinnamon. I never even thought to put those two together. You’re a genius. Also, I will never be able to live without bananas. They never get old. I’m also a creature of habit. Meghan, on the other hand, has gotten sick of numerous food items lately. It’s hard to keep up, haha. I guess you can over do certain items sometimes.
Oh you must try the sweet potato, nut butter, cinnamon combo. It is awesome!!
Baked sweet potato with peanut butter and cinnamon sounds amazing, ill have to give it a try! I’m such a creature of habit with my food but its cheaper and healthier for me than trying something new every day!
Yes, you should definitely try it. It is pure awesomeness.
Doesn’t look boring to me! I love the sweet potato + almond butter combo, but pb sounds like a great addition, too. I’m just like you with cereal–I like to mix together a bunch of different kinds and top it all off with unsweetened vanilla almond milk! Delish 🙂
The mixed cereal bowl is the BEST!!
you know, I cant get into the whole sweet tater with nut butter thing and I have no idea WHY! I love sweet taters and I love nutbutters, why don’t I like them together?! So weird!
What a bummer!! At least you like them separately! 😉
Wow, the sweet potato with peanut butter looks AMAZING! Can’t wait to try that!
Do it!! It is great!
Yum, that soup looks so good! Excited for tomorrow’s post about it!
I am about to write it up right now!!
Nothing wrong with being a creature of habit.. I think we all are in some ways 🙂 Can’t wait to hear about this SOUP!!
Sorry to make you wait, but I had SO many to share in yesterday’s Friday Favorites post that it will have to wait until the next one!
