Yesterday’s post was about a homemade veggie burger, and today’s post is about a restaurant veggie burger. It is a good one, too!
Sinful Burger
After researching some local restaurants in the Omaha, Nebraska area, I came across a restaurant that is known for its burgers. Sinful Burger has been named one of the best restaurants in Omaha, and the restaurant received the award for the 4th best burger in Nebraska in 2012. Naturally, I had to check to see if they had a vegetarian option to meet my dietary needs. And to my delight, they did!
My boyfriend and I headed to Sinful Burger on a cold night about two weeks ago. We were both pretty excited to try it out after hearing all of the hype about the food. We started our meal off with an order of fried dill pickle spears. It had been awhile since I had eaten fried pickles, but they are one of my favorite appetizers that I indulge in from time to time so we figured, why not? I definitely did not regret that decision!
When it came to ordering my meal, it was a pretty easy pick (thanks to only a couple of vegetarian options being offered).
I ordered the black bean veggie burger, which came on toasted Texas toast bread and was topped with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. I ordered the chipotle ranch dressing on the side. I also upgraded my side from regular french fries to sweet potato fries.
The black bean veggie burger was really good! It was incredibly flavorful and the texture was great. I loved that it was served on Texas toast, and the addition of the chipotle ranch was amazing…spicy, but amazing!
As you can tell, the sandwich was huge. And that was only half of it! I was definitely stuffed at the end of the meal.
My only complaint about the meal was that the sweet potato fries left a bit to be desired. They tasted good, but were missing the crispiness that I like when it comes to sweet potato fries. I was, however, really glad that I upgraded to the sweet potato fries, because the regular french fries (which my boyfriend order) were not very tasty at all. They were a bit soggy and lacked some much-needed seasoning. Next time, I think I will just order a salad for my side.
And for those of you who are curious as to what the meat-eater boyfriend ordered…
Say hello to the Envy burger. This burger contains a 1/2 pound patty that is topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, onion rings, and barbecue sauce. It is topped off with lettuce, tomato, and onions. And the verdict from the boyfriend….it was mighty tasty! And messy! 😉
Overall, I really liked Sinful Burger. The fried pickles were amazingly delicious! I was reminded, yet again, as to why I love them so much. The black bean veggie burger was great, and I loved that it was served a bit differently than the traditional veggie burger. I will definitely dine at Sinful Burger again, but next time I will rethink my side choice.
